Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel II is one of the landmark large infrastructure projects in Egypt, developed to strengthen connectivity between the Sinai Peninsula and the rest of the country. The tunnel runs beneath the Suez Canal and represents a major advancement in national transport infrastructure.

An alliance between Siemens and UDT (DT partners) was awarded the contract to supply the operational control systems for the project. UDT delivered advanced technology solutions, while Deutschland Technology and Siemens provided the core equipment and systems forming the tunnel’s integrated platform.

The project scope covered comprehensive tunnel engineering services and infrastructure MEP works, including advanced tunnel electromechanical systems and fully integrated electrical and tunnel ventilation systems, ensuring safety, operational continuity, and real-time monitoring.
